This Cookie Policy explains how BarrelLogic uses cookies and similar technologies on barrellogic.com and barrellogic.com.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device to remember preferences or track activity. "Similar technologies" include localStorage, sessionStorage, and — rarely — device identifiers.
We categorise cookies into three groups. You choose which groups (beyond Strictly Necessary) to allow via the cookie banner on your first visit. You can change your choice any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer.
1. Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These cookies are required for the site to function. We cannot disable them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token |
Supabase authentication — keeps you signed in | Session |
bl.active_winery_id |
Which winery you're viewing, when you belong to multiple | 1 year |
bl.cookie_consent |
Records your cookie preferences | 1 year |
| CSRF token | Prevents cross-site request forgery | Session |
2. Analytics cookies (optional, off by default)
We only set these if you accept via the cookie banner. They help us understand which features are used and where people get stuck. We do not profile individual users.
| Service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog | Product analytics — page views, feature usage, funnels | 1 year |
PostHog is self-hostable and configured to capture only aggregate behavioral events. IP addresses are truncated at collection.
3. Marketing cookies (optional, off by default)
We don't currently run third-party marketing cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.). If we add any, they will appear here and require explicit consent via the banner.
Third-party cookies on embedded content
Some features embed third-party content that sets its own cookies:
- Stripe Checkout (
js.stripe.com): required for card payments. Governed by Stripe's cookie policy. - YouTube (
www.youtube.com): only on marketing pages that embed a product video. Governed by Google's cookie policy.
Both are loaded only when you interact with the embedded content, not on initial page load.
How to manage cookies
- In BarrelLogic: footer link "Cookie preferences" → re-opens the banner.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies at the OS or browser level. Doing so may break authentication and preference-saving features.
Do-Not-Track
We honor the Do-Not-Track header and the Global Privacy Control header. When either is sent by your browser, we treat it as an opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies regardless of banner state.
International users
- EU / EEA / UK: consent is obtained in advance per ePrivacy Directive and GDPR Article 7. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link in the footer is equivalent to declining analytics and marketing cookies.
Updates
We will notify you of material changes via the in-app banner and the marketing site. Last updated date at the top of this page.
